Impacts of green manure on crop yield, nitrogen leaching and nitrous oxide emissions in sandy and clay soil lysimeters

چکیده

We compared wheat yield, losses of nitrogen (N) in leaching, and gaseous as nitrous oxide (N2O) silt sand soil lysimeters. The studied cultivation systems were based on mineral fertilizer or together with clover green manure mulched at three different time points (August, October May) before sowing the main crop (either winter spring wheat). Replacing 50–60% N from a mixture species did not compromise yield wheat. results suggest that mulching succeeding its is most beneficial practice respect to environmental impacts. Total leaching was higher sandy than loam whereas emissions N2O soil. Residual biomass lead an increase during growing season one year harvest. However, residual can be source high period boreal climatic conditions.

The Impacts of Different Green Manure on Soil Microbial Communities and Crop Health

Green manure could improve soil nutrients and crop production, playing a significant role in sustainable agriculture. However, the impacts of green manure on crop health and the roles soil microbial communities play in the process haven’t been clarified clearly yet. In this study, we investigated soil microbial community composition and structure in four tobacco farmlands, which were treated wi...

Long-term trends in nitrous oxide emissions, soil nitrogen, and crop yields of till and no-till cropping systems.

No-till cropping can increase soil C stocks and aggregation but patterns of long-term changes in N2O emissions, soil N availability, and crop yields still need to be resolved. We measured soil C accumulation, aggregation, soil water, N2O emissions, soil inorganic N, and crop yields in till and no-till corn-soybean-wheat rotations between 1989 and 2002 in southwestern Michigan and investigated w...

Nitrogen, tillage, and crop rotation effects on nitrous oxide emissions from irrigated cropping systems.

We evaluated the effects of irrigated crop management practices on nitrous oxide (N(2)O) emissions from soil. Emissions were monitored from several irrigated cropping systems receiving N fertilizer rates ranging from 0 to 246 kg N ha(-1) during the 2005 and 2006 growing seasons. Cropping systems included conventional-till (CT) continuous corn (Zea mays L.), no-till (NT) continuous corn, NT corn...
